The White & Long Coat German Shepherd Society was formed in 1986 and was the first club to implement development of the White and Long Coat German Shepherd. Currently in the United Kingdom, it still is the only society to promote these types of German Shepherds.
The society's members fortunately organise fun shows around England, more predominantly in the Western and Southern regions, so that we are able to exhibit our beautiful White and Long Coats. The WALCSS circuit is fun and enjoyable, just how shows and clubs should be!
Due to many 'German Shepherd' clubs egnoring the fact that the White German Shepherd exists, the WALCSS was formed so that lovers could stand up and emerge the 'White German Shepherd' into the headlines and promote its well-being. There have been numerous attempts to get the White recognised, however, the club has yet to prove its full potential.
Being a member of the WALCSS Society enables people to see that the population of White and Long Coat admirers is always on the rise - and without full support - it can not voice its opinion on how brilliant these Shepherds are. The WALCSS speaks for all of us; if we wish to promote our Shepherds successfully, then it needs all of
lovers under its feet. There is no other club supporting the White or Long Coat in the UK, and we need a legion if we wish to prove a point.
Breeders and members should tell everyone about this society - so that we can get the full recognition needed to emerge the White and Long Coat Shepherd into our Kennel Club rings!
It has been rumoured that the LONG COAT type of German Shepherd is now being reconsidered into the breed standard in Germany.
This means that seperate classes will be officially held for long coats who have under coat present. This will be an immense step forward in getting these perfect types of GSD recognised. They differ only in coat length or colour - not in the working ability or temperament of dog.
Please visit the WALCSS website to find details on upcoming shows and how you can become a member to support your beloved White or Long Coat German Shepherd.
